Data Entry With Cost Allocation


If you have set up a cost allocation system, any direct or defined cost elements that you add to a cost item via the Cost Data Entry form will automatically be added as a group of cost elements, one for each allocation block. The illustration below shows a single direct cost when a cost allocation system has been set up representing the four calendar years 2011 to 2014.



Note that you can have different contingencies or variances for each allocation block, and you can have different currencies for each block.


As an exercise, add allocated cost data to one or more cost items in your cost breakdown structure. You will need this for the cost allocation reporting exercise.
